Chhath Puja

Chhath is a Hindu festival dedicated to the worship of God Sun (Surya Dev). Chhathi Maiya is worshipped on the chhath festival, which is also mentioned in the Bramha Vaivarta Purna. 

Day 1: Nahay Khay

In the first day bathing in the river or water bodies for ritualistic bathing. Devotees clean their bodies and souls, before observing a strict fast until sunset.

Day 2: Kharna

Kharna is the second day of chhath puja, where devotees observe another fast, breaking it after sunset.

Day 3: Sandhya Arghya

Devotees gathered to the water bodies to offer fruits, sugarcane, and Thekua the to the Sun God. The atmosphere is filled with devotion and positive energy.

Day 4 Usha Arghya

Usha Arghya  is the fourth day of chhath celebration, offering prayers to the rising sun. Devotees express their gratitude for the blessing received and seek the Sun God’s continued protection.

Prasad

Prasad plays a significant role in the celebration. Devotees prepare prasad and offer a variety of dishes like fruits and some special dishes.

Sweets

Thekua is a traditional sweets on Chhath puja. Devotees prepare delectable treats like kheers, thekua, and other sweets.
