Drinking lots of water is a good way to keep your body hydrated as sunburn can dehydrate your body. One of the important things that contribute to the healing process and keep skin healthy is hydration.
Hydrate
Apply a gentle lotion or an aloe vera gel to the affected area, to help hydrate and soothe the skin. Do not engage in the purchase of cosmetics with petroleum and benzocaine, because they can heat up and irritate the skin.
Moisturize
Avoid Peeling
Do not peel sunburned skin, as it will affect the healing process and increase the risk of infection. Let the skin peel off naturally by itself without any extraneous help.
Green Tea
Brew green tea and let it cool down until it is lukewarm. Afterward, use cool green tea to soothe sunburn by applying it to the burnt area with a cotton ball or spray bottle.
Avoid Irritants
It is not advisable to use harsh soaps, perfumes, or other irritating products on sunburned skin because they can aggravate the condition and lead to more dryness. Stick to a minimalist and scentless skin care regimen.
Cool Compresses
Apply cool compresses or take a bath to reduce the pain and swelling of the affected skin. Do not use ice directly on the skin; instead, make use of a wet cloth before applying it to the sunburn area so that you do not make it worse.
