Chakor Gramodyog Sewa Sansthan (CGSS), Gursahaiganj (Kannauj) is an Implementing Agency under ‘Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industry’ (SFURTI Programme) of Khadi & Village Industries Commission, under ministry of micro, small, medium enterprises (MSME), Govt. of India. The name says it all, as sewa sansthan means it is an organization for the people, by the people and to serve people. This organization was established in 2002-03, the stepping stone of this organization was kept by khadi and village industries commission (KVIC), govt. of India, under the management of Mr. Mukesh Kumar Arya with a team of 10 members.
The organization entered Indian market with fast moving consumer good products (FMCG) i.e. chakor detergent cake, chakor oil soaps and chakor detergent powder, herbal soap and bath soaps with different fragrances as per the skin sensitivity of people. These products were launched in northern India. The response we got was magnificent.
As it is a Charitable Institute registered under Societies Registration Act 1860 vide no. 1208/2001-02 dated 26-02-2002 after watching, a constant growth and increased likeliness among people for our product. The cluster in 2008 entered a new market with a new product and with a different marketing strategy. That new product was handmade incense sticks i.e. mahak agarbatti, mantra incense sticks as premium brand, mogra dhoop batti and hawan samagri. The point for manufacturing incense sticks is to help the artisans of Kannauj agarbatti cluster and to make their world a better place to live.
